PK Enrollment

QUALIFICATIONS FOR FREE PRE-K

  • Unable to speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the national school lunch program guidelines about NSLP eligibility can be found in sections 4 and 6 of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s (Administrators Reference Manual),
  • Homeless, as defined by 42 USC, §11434a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child,
  • The child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority,
  • The child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty,
  • The child is or has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (foster care) following an adversary hearing held as provided by Family Code §262.201 or has been in foster care in another state or territory, but currently lives in Texas,
  • Child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as:  a peace officer, firefighter, or an emergency medical first responder under Texas Government Code §3106.002

TUITION-BASED PRE-K

Tuition-based PK is an option for parents who do not meet any of the above criteria. It is based on space availability at a campus.  The tuition fee is approved each year by MECC Board of Trustees.

MECC PRE-K HOURS: 8:15 AM - 3:55 PM

EARLY RELASE: 12:15 pm

AFTER SCHOOL CARE: 3:55 PM – 6:30 PM

SCHOOL MEALS

For the 2023-2024 school year, all students receive free meals at no cost to their parents.  Parents may provide lunch for their students.

TRANSPORTATION

Students who are eligible for transportation will complete the Transportation Form during the Enrollment Process.  Parents may elect to drop off and pick up their student.

2024-2025 School Year Pre-K

Complete an ONLINE FORM to establish eligibility for preliminary acceptance to Pre-K.

You must login to Google to complete the form.

*After your application is submitted, your information and eligibility will be verified. When accepted, you will receive a PRELIMINARY ACCEPTANCE LETTER.

STEP 2: FINAL ACCEPTANCE AND ENROLLMENT IN SKYWARD

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR PRE-K 

  • Parent/guardian ID
  • Student's birth certificate
  • Student's social security card
  • Current immunization record
  • Proof of residency (mortgage or lease agreement)
  • Current utility bill
  • Proof of income
  • Court documents (if applicable)

PRE-K SKYWARD ENROLLMENT

  • Existing parent/guardian Skyward Account: Log into Skyward selecting "Enrollment for New Students" in the dropdown menu to enroll your student. 
  • No Skyward Account: Student's parent/guardian creates an online account in SKYWARD New Student ENROLLMENT. Student's parent/guardian will receive an email with instructions and a link to complete enrollment.
